“Brilliant Find in the Heart of the City” We found this lovely gem on the evening of River Fire this year. We ordered takeaway and headed back to our hotel. A month later I was in town with my daughter and we decided to eat in after a work function. The food is authentic, fresh and beautifully presented. The atmosphere is also pretty authentic! We have travelled to Japan on many occasions and now I have my "go to" place in Brisbane!

The Salmon was so fresh, could taste the ocean, staff attentive. Well priced, generous portions, highly recommended

“Great food, excellent service. Very consistent quality.” We ate at Oshin three times in our stay in Brisbane and it really is a gem tucked away in the CBD.
The upstairs restaurant is perhaps a little cozy but we enjoyed it all the same.
Would certainly reccomend if you're passing through and looking for some good sashimi!

“Old favourite - never disappoints!” I have had the pleasure of dining here many times over the years. It is consistently good and, importantly, authentic. The quality of the food is exceptional but without the price hikes that one often experiences with other Japanese restaurants. The fact that it's frequented by Japanese nationals says it all. Having visited Japan a couple of times, I can vouch for the authentic food served. The decor is unpretentious as is the building the restaurant is housed in. I will return !

“Fresh sashimi and exceptional rolls” My parents and I had a delicious dinner at Oshin.
For starters, we shared a large sashimi platter, "Oshin" rolls, spicy tuna rolls and hot cooked salmon rolls and were so impressed by how fresh and tasty these were.
As a mains I had a bento box with teriyaki chicken and tempura which was pretty good too, the accompanying miso soup was just right - not too salty.
My father had soba noodles in soup, which he said was a little bland.
All in all, the meal was satisfying and good value. I can definitely recommend eating here, especially the sushi

“Lovely service and delicious Japanese cuisine” This Japanese restaurant has been party of the Brisbane CBD well before sushi or miso soup became fashionable or mainstream. It is an elegant little restaurant with lovely service and well priced tasty and authentic Japanese food.

“Authentic japanese hidden in CBD” Really great, fresh sashimi with fast and friendly service. Dont let the other reviews about decor put you off, it gives the place a genuine feel and every dish was excellent!

“Great food” This restaurant is really cute and authentic, the waiters and waitresses are all in traditional dress. Very attentive staff. The food was good, great sushi platter. The sizzling steak was a little on the chewy side.

“Get up the stairs and excellent Japanese food awaits” Ate early on a Friday night just the two of us. Greeted by very friendly staff and sat down to peruse an extensive menu.
You certainly aren't limited for choice and a great range of sushi, sashimi, noodle, bbq and on.
I found the tempura to be a little on the greasy side that even the accompanying Miso failed to break through. My wife had a tempura, udon, miso broth dish and that was better balanced.
Sushi we had as an entree was very fresh and lovely with a fantastic warm sauce/broth for further flavour.
At the end of the night a well priced meal delivered by friendly staff with a pretty good ambience. One of the better in Brisbane City

“Good food, good service” It's good to find a Japanses restaurant that understands Japanese food and is staffed by attentive Japaneses staff. Yes it may not be the the most glitzy restaurant in Brisbane but most restaurants in Japan are not glitzy either. I will be back!

“Great Plum Course Menu” Food was great and service was also great. Fresh, clean Japanese with great variety. Don't let the rickety looking staircase put you off.

“Very fresh sushi and a great sushi chef” I always love coming to Australia because the seafood is just so fresh. This restaurant did not disappoint. I started with an Oshin Roll - house specialty and went on to have Tasman Salmon Sushi, a Bluefin Tuna hand roll and some eel. All were exceptional. I'd highly recommend this restaurant if you're looking for good food at a very good price.

Went here for my birthday celebration dinner. Had the plum course which had an entree, sashimi selection, main course (tempura and rice), cawan mushashi and ice cream dessert for Aud43. The sashimi was fresh and the tempura was the best i ever had, light yet crispy. My friends said the eggplant nashi was great too. The price is reasonable and the food is honest, much better than the other expensive fancy places in town. Definitely recommend it.
